Operation of only one central Hellweg granulator can be advantageous, compared with buying several beside-the-machine granulators. Lower investment costs and better machine utilisation can then mean greater profitability.
On-line recycling directly at the injection moulding machine is not always possible. So rejected parts, sprues and runners can be collected within a plastics processing operation and passed to the Hellweg Series 180 central granulator fitted with extraction equipment.
Both lightweight and thinwalled, as well as heavy and thick-walled parts can be ground.
A particular feature is the design of the grinding enclosure without “dead corners”. This enables complete cleaning within very short time, that is especially important with frequent colour or material changes.
Solid and compact construction is used. The generously dimensioned external bearing recesses are connected to the grinding enclosure by flange and ensure the highest level of stability and support for the heavy rotors.
When fitted with feeding equipment for cast films, the series 180 granulators are used for processing of film edge strips.
When fitted with extraction equipment, the ground material is conveyed directly from the collection tub.
The use of solid, double-sided exterior bearings for the rotors prevent ingress of dust and therefore guarantees long bearing life. It also prevents contamination of the ground material by lubricants.
The small 180 series central granulators are ideally suitable for granulation of solid moulded parts.
